Today I want to share with you a fun building project that’s sure to make your home décor super unique. This wreath/sign stand is perfect for displaying your handmade or purchased items in a unique way. This is also perfect for those who have limited or no wall space! This is also a great way to use up scraps! Let me show you how to create your own.
Step 1: Find the center of the base pieces. I drew diagonal lines with a ruler from corner to corner to quickly find the center.
Then drill a hole smaller than the wood screw you are using.
Tip: If you don’t have wood at home, you can purchase wood plaques from any craft stores such as Hobby Lobby or Micheals and get really creative with different shapes.
Step 2: Using the same method as above to find the center, drill a hole in the center of the bottom of the post. Optional: If adding a finale to the top, drill a hole at the top of the post too.
Step 3: Apply glue to the smaller base and the bottom of the post and screw from the bottom through all the pieces. The base(s) may spin slightly as you screw in so go slow and hold them tight. It may be helpful to have a second set of hands to hold it all while you screw. Countersink the screw so your stand sits flat on the surface.
Step 4: Finish with paint or stain of your choosing. I stained my first then dry brushed white paint on to give it a rustic distressed look.
Step 5: Measure down from the top where you want the hook or knob. Screw in the hook. If using a knob, drill a hole slightly bigger than the knob’s screw and screw the knob in from the back.
That’s it! So easy and inexpensive, the best kind of DIY! Now we are ready for any seasonal sign or wreath!
I hope you enjoyed this DIY Wreath Stand craft as much as I did and decide to make one for yourself! Please give us a like, save this for later by pinning it and share it with all your friends! Feel inspired, have a question, or want to share; leave a comment below.
